Blog, Drag Racing News, Sydney Dragway News, ATFC | 21 Jan 2022 |

Despite logging at least the first qualifying session for all categories, the weather ultimatley had the final say at Sydney Dragway for Round 1 of the Burson Autoparts Australian Top Fuel Championship on Friday.

The provisional number one qualifier in Top Fuel is Peter Xiberas with an early shut off 3.83 second pass. 3 time Australian Champ Phil read hold second, with Top Fuel rookie Shane Olive nailing third place with a 3.89.

Pro  Stock sees Chris Soldatos in the number one spot with a 6.941, and Robert Dekert only 5-thousandths of a second behind in second with a 6.946.

Pro Mod unfortunately did not hit the track, as they were in the lanes ready to run when the heavens opened.

Top Bike was a mixed affair with Robert Cassar currently leading with a 7.09.

All categories will hit the track tomorrow for an additional Qualifying session before racing begins in the afternoon.

Spectator Gates open at 9.30, with on-track action from 10am. For the full schedule, click HERE .

Due to the rain delays, all ticket holders from Friday can present their ticket at the booth on Saturday and only pay the difference between the Friday gate price and Saturday gate price for entry to the event.
