CLASSES

PRO: Purpose built high end burnout vehicles. With aftermarket supercharged, turbocharged, nitrous injected or high performance tuned naturally aspirated methanol or gasoline fuelled engine vehicles.

STREET: Street appearing cars only. Minimal external engine or induction components visible out of the bonnet. No Nitrous. No Chassis rail modifications (mini tubs OK). Cars do not have to be street registered. Standard small capacity turbos or superchargers, air cleaners protruding out of the bonnet OK.

4's, 6's and Rotories: Strictly street appearing cars only. Minimal external engine or induction components visible out of the bonnet. No Nitrous. No Chassis rail modifications (mini tubs OK). Cars do not have to be street registered. Standard small capacity turbos or superchargers, air cleaners protruding out of the bonnet OK.

PRE ONLINE ENTRY

  • PRO ENTRANTS ($150): 1 x Burnout Vehicle Pass, 1 x Tow Vehicle Pass, 1 x Support Vehicle Pass, 2 Buddy Passes.

  • STREET ENTRANTS ($100) 1 x Burnout Vehicle Pass, 1 x Tow Vehicle Pass, 1 Buddy Pass.

  • 4's, 6's and ROTORIES ($80) 1 x Burnout Vehicle Pass, 1 x Tow Vehicle Pass, 1 Buddy Pass.

JUDGING

Whilst we sympathize with difficult judging outcomes in what is an interpretive sport – Sydney Dragway will not accept threats, harassment or excessive misbehaviour from competitors to any official or fellow competitor regarding their specific judging concerns during events. Disqualification will occur in these instances.

All judging enquiries are to be made directly to the Meeting Director of the event only.

Judges scores are final and correspondence will not be entered into.

Competitors are not allowed to engage (formally or informally) with official judges at Burnout Events. If competitors fail to heed direction in regards to not engaging with judges – their burnout will be disqualified.

Judges will be using the following criteria:

Instant Smoke /10          

Constant Smoke /10      

Volume of Smoke /10   

Driving Skill /20 

Pop Tyres /10 (5 per tyre)           

Don't drive off pad after burnout (minus 5)        

Crash/ reverse/ stopping (minus 5 per time)

GENERAL POINTS - SCRUTINEERING

  • Neat street style appearance
  • Automatics must have an operational neutral safety switch
  • No oil leaks
  • Minimum 600ml coolant overflow Tank/Bottle
  • Minimum lap sash seat belt
  • Seats to be in good supportive condition and have all mounting bolts fitted
  • No liquid to run through cabin area unless fully enclosed in steel housing approved by Scrutineers
  • Battery to be secured (it is highly recommended to have an isolation switch)
  • Recommended to have transmission shield or blanket
  • Bonnets may be removed if fitted with an electric fan; bonnet must be in place if fitted with a mechanical fan.
  • Fuel cells / Tanks, battery must be isolated from Cabin area
  • Nothing to be sprayed on or placed on tyres
  • Modified Floor pan/Fire wall and Tunnel to be inspected by scrutineers for approval
  • Driveline Protection essential
  • Tail shaft Loop with 360degress of enclosure minimum size 3mm thickness and 50mm width and installed within 150mm from front universal joint on all Blown cars
  • Tyres must be road worthy, bald tyres will not permitted
  • Wheel nuts must be standard open nuts; Mag wheel nut not permitted on steel rims, all wheel weights must be removed.
  • No convertibles
  • No changes to be made after the vehicle has been Scrutineered unless vehicle is to be checked again

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE (BLOWN, TURBO) VEHICLES

  • Blower Belt guard and restraints are required for all ‘out-of-bonnet’ (aftermarket) Superchargers.
  • Harmonic balancer, meeting SFI 18.1 requirements
  • Transmission shield or blanket (3mm steel shields over tunnel accepted upon approval)
  • Tail shaft loop 360 deg no further than 150 mm from front uni
  • Bonnets may be removed it the vehicle has an appropriate mechanical fan fitted.
  • Mechanical fuel injection must have fuel shut off to be operational from drivers compartment
  • No fluid to run through cabin area unless fully enclosed in steel housing and approved by scrutineers
  • Manual transmissions are highly recommended to have a clutch shield

CLOTHING

Long pants & long sleeve shirt (no nylon clothing)
Enclosed shoes and socks
Helmet – AS/NZS 1698:2006 Minimum.

NOTE – Sleeves must be down before, during and after the burnout until the car is parked and turned off.

ENTRANT SIGN-ON (SCRUTINEERING)

  • There are dedicated lanes for PRO, STREET and 4's, 6's and ROTORIES competitors
  • Driver must complete ALL required indemnity forms before they can sign in before they can compete
  • Drivers under the age of 18 must hold current drivers licence and have legal guardian present with them to sign in. A legal guarding can only be - A) Parent or B) A court appointed guardian. (Siblings, Friends, neighbours will not be accepted as      guardians)
  • Parents must have Photo ID
  • Legal Guardians must have Court papers showing legal guardianship.

 Random Breath Testing (RBT) WILL be conducted on Drivers and crew.
